Powerpoint Karaoke

Listening to the Radio 4 programme "Word of mouth" on my way home they discussed the overuse of powerpoint. One of the contributors felt that the use of bullet points limited the development of sustained arguments. A fair point I thought.

However, as well as this, the programme mentioned 'powerpoint karaoke' where people (with the aid of alcoholic lubrication) would stand up and provide a running commentary to a number of powerpoint slides that they had never seen before. It sounded quite fun. It struck me that it could be a useful revision technique to use in class. At the end of a topic/lesson students could come to the front and provide a semi-sensible commentary to 3 or 4 slides with keywords or pictures on them.
